नेपालकै मिनी स्वीजरल्याण्डको रुपमा परिचित बागमती प्रदेशको दोलखा जिल्ला अन्तर्गत जिरी नगरपालिकाको उत्तरपट्टि, पश्चिममा हनुमन्ते र दक्षिण पूर्वतर्फ रामेछाप जिल्लाको तामेजस्ता रानी पहाडहरुले घेरिएको सुन्दर उपत्यकामा रहेको ऐतिहासिक विद्यालय हो जिरी माध्यमिक विद्यालय । जिरी राजधानी काठमाडौबाट उत्तर पूर्व १९० किमी टाढा रहेको छ । २७° ६२" उत्तरी अक्षांश र ८६° २४" पूर्वी देशान्तरमा रहेको यस विद्यालय करीव १९५० मिटरको उचाइमा रहेको छ। विद्यालय जिरी नगरपालिकाको मध्य भागमा अवस्थित छ ।
Jiri Secondary School is a historical institution located in a beautiful valley inside Jiri Municipality, toward the north of Dolakha District in Bagmati Province, which is renowned as the "Mini Switzerland" of Nepal. The school is surrounded by the Hanumante hills to the west and the Tamejasta Rani hills of Ramechhap District toward the southeast. Jiri is situated 190 km northeast of the capital city, Kathmandu. Located at 27° 62" North latitude and 86° 24" East longitude, this school stands at an altitude of approximately 1,950 meters and is situated in the central part of Jiri Municipality.
यस विद्यालय तत्कालिन दूरदृष्टि राख्ने समाजका प्रतिष्ठित शिक्षाप्रेमीहरुबाट वि सं २०१७ सालमा स्थापना गरिएको हो । वि सं २०२३ मा मिडिल स्कुल २०२४ सालमा हाइ स्कुलको सम्बन्धन प्राप्त गरी वि सं २०२५ सालबाट SLC परीक्षामा सहभागी गराउँदै आएको ऐतिहासिक विद्यालय हो । वि सं २०५१ सालमा तत्कालिन उच्च माध्यमिक शिक्षा परिषदबाट सम्बन्धन प्राप्त गरी दोलखा जिल्लाको पहिलो कक्षा ११ र १२ को अध्यापन गर्ने विद्यालय हो । साथै वि सं २०५४ सालबाट विज्ञान संकाय सञ्चालन गर्ने तत्कालिन जनकपुर अञ्चलको पहिलो सामुदायिक विद्यालय हो । हाल कक्षा ११ र १२ मा विज्ञान व्यवस्थापन शिक्षा र मानविकी सबै क्षेत्रका विषयहरुको पठनपाठन भइरहेको छ ।
हाल विद्यालयमा नर्सरीदेखि कक्षा १२ सम्म अध्ययन अध्यापन गरिन्छ। विद्यालयमा ५०७ जना विद्यार्थीहरु अध्ययन गरिरहेका छन् । विद्यालयका कक्षाकोठाहरु प्रविधिमैत्री र बालमैत्री रहेका छन् । अङ्ग्रेजी र नेपाली दुबै माध्यमलाई अँगाल्दै विद्यार्थीहरुको सिकाइ उपलब्धिलाई उत्कृष्ट बनाउने प्रयत्न भई रहेको छ । सोही अनुरुप २०८१ सालको SEE परीक्षामा सहभागीहरु मध्ये सतप्रतिशत उत्तीर्ण गर्दै सामुदायिक विद्यालयहरुमा दोलखा जिल्ला कै उत्कृष्ट नतिजा ल्याउन सफल भएको छ । २१ औँ शताब्दीमा राष्ट्रिय र अन्तरराष्ट्रिय वातावरणमा समायोजन हुनसक्ने जनशक्ति उत्पादनको लक्ष्यका साथ प्रविधि युक्त व्यावहारिक जीवन उपयोगी तथा गुणस्तरीय शिक्षा प्रदान गर्दै सक्षम विवेशशील र स्वाभिमानी नागरिक तयार गर्ने कार्यमा दृढ सङ्कल्पित छ । समयसँगै आफैलाई नवीनीकरण गर्दै, यस विद्यालयले शैक्षिक क्षेत्रमा मात्र होइन, खेलकुद, कला, संस्कार र सामाजिक चेतनाका हरेक पाटोमा आफ्नो छुट्टै छवि निर्माण गरेको छ। यहाँको शिक्षाले केवल पाठ्यपुस्तकका अक्षर सिकाउँदैन, जीवनका पाना पल्टाउँदै, विचारको गहिराइ र आत्मविश्वासको उचाइ प्रदान गर्दछ।
हाल चिनियाँ सरकारको सहयोगमा विद्यालयको भौतिक पूर्वाधारको निर्माण कार्य सम्पन्न भइ सकेको छ । हस्तान्तरण नियमित कक्षा नयाँ पूर्वाधारमा शुरु भएको छ । यस भौतिक पूर्वाधारमा शैक्षिक प्रशासनिक भवन २, पुस्तकालय भवन १, सभाहल तथा क्याफ्टेरिया भवन १, छात्रा र छात्रका लागि छात्रावास भवन २ र शिक्षक आवास १ गरी जम्मा ७ वटा भवन हुनेछ । खेलकुदका लागि फुटबल भलिबल र बास्केट बल मैदान तयार भैसकेको छ । यस पूर्व नै विद्यालयमा रहेको सामुदायिक हल १ सामुदायिक पुस्तकालय १ मार्फत समुदाय प्रतिको आफ्नो कर्तव्यलाई पूरा गर्ने प्रयत्न गरिरहेको छ । हाम्रो विद्यालयको दृष्टि केवल पठनपाठनमा सीमित छैन। हामी “सिक्दै कमाउँदै, कमाउँदै सिक्दै” भन्ने मूल मन्त्रलाई आत्मसात गर्दै परियोजना–कार्यमा आधारित कार्यक्रममार्फत विद्यार्थीलाई आत्मनिर्भर, स्वावलम्बी बनाउन कटिबद्ध छौँ। हामी हाम्रो संस्थालाई नेपालकै उत्कृष्ट र चर्चित विद्यालयको रूपमा स्थापित गर्ने अटल ध्येयसहित निरन्तर अघि बढिरहेका छौँ। यस कार्यमा पूर्व विद्यार्थी पूर्व शिक्षक शिक्षा प्रेमी तथा समाजसेवी व्यक्तित्व सहयोगी संघ संस्था सबैको सहयोग प्राप्त हुनेछ भन्ने पूर्ण विश्वास गर्दछ।

This historical school was established in the year 2017 B.S. (Bikram Sambat) by visionary and prestigious education enthusiasts of the society. It gained affiliation as a middle school in 2023 B.S., and as a high school in 2024 B.S., subsequently sending its students to participate in the SLC (School Leaving Certificate) examinations since 2025 B.S. By obtaining affiliation from the then Higher Secondary Education Council in 2051 B.S., it became the first school in Dolakha District to conduct classes for Grades 11 and 12. Furthermore, by launching the Science stream in 2054 B.S., it became the first community school in the then Janakpur Zone to do so. Currently, subjects across all fields—including Science, Management, Education, and Humanities—are being taught in Grades 11 and 12.
Presently, teaching and learning activities are conducted from Nursery to Grade 12, with 507 students currently studying at the school. The classrooms are technology-friendly and child-friendly. Employing both English and Nepali mediums of instruction, constant efforts are being made to maximize students' learning achievements. Accordingly, the school succeeded in securing a 100% pass rate among its participants in the 2081 B.S. SEE (Secondary Education Examination), achieving the best result among community schools in Dolakha District. With the vision of producing human resources capable of adapting to national and international environments in the 21st century, the school is firmly committed to preparing capable, conscientious, and self-respecting citizens by providing technology-integrated, practical, life-applicable, and quality education. Innovating itself with time, this school has built a distinct identity not only in the academic field but also in every aspect of sports, arts, culture, and social awareness. Education here does not merely teach characters from text books; it turns the pages of life, providing depth of thought and heights of self-confidence.
Recently, the construction of the school's physical infrastructure has been completed with the support of the Chinese government. Following the handover, regular classes have commenced in the new infrastructure. This physical infrastructure consists of a total of 7 buildings, including 2 educational/administrative buildings, 1 library building, 1 assembly hall and cafeteria building, 2 hostel buildings (for male and female students), and 1 teacher residential building. Football, volleyball, and basketball grounds have also been prepared for sports. Prior to this, the school has been striving to fulfill its duty toward the community through its existing community hall and community library. Our school's vision is not limited to classroom teaching alone. Embracing the core mantra of "Learning while earning, earning while learning," we are committed to making students self-reliant and independent through project-work-based programs. We are continuously moving forward with the unwavering objective of establishing our institution as one of the best and most renowned schools in Nepal.
